Registration is now OPEN for the 2026 California Infill Summit!

August 19-20, 2026 – Join us in Los Angeles at the L.A. Athletic Club for the 2026 California Infill Summit: Best Practices and Breakthrough Opportunities, hosted by the Infill Builders Foundation and the Council of Infill Builders.

Can we actually get things built in California? The Infill Builders are convening the people working to make sure the answer is YES.

The California Infill Summit will feature builders, contractors, lawyers, lenders, utilities, elected officials, planners, community organizations, sustainability professionals, and students for a practical conversation about what it takes to make infill projects pencil, get permitted, get powered up, open their doors, and avoid death by a thousand cuts along the way.

Come be part of the conversation about what’s working, what’s not, and what changes we need. California’s housing, economic development and climate goals – not to mention the future of our industry – hang in the balance.

Speakers include leading infill developer Leo Pustilnikov, an innovator in the use of the Builder’s Remedy; groundbreaking lender Genesis L.A., which is financing infill typologies other lenders won’t (yet) touch; and utility executive Shaheed Moledina of ENMAX, the Calgary power company delivering electricity to infill projects at 4-5x the speed of California providers.

We’ll also hear from city leaders including Los Angeles Mayor and mayoral candidate Karen Bass (invited), Los Angeles City Councilmember and mayoral candidate Nithya Raman, City of San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria, and Santa Monica City Manager Oliver Chi, along with leading experts from around the state.

Check out the full program and registration, including hotel information. Members of the Council of Infill Builders receive a discount on registration. Join or renew here.

We look forward to seeing you in Los Angeles in August!

Infill Report – Santa Rosa

November 8, 2018 – The Council of Infill Builders released the new report Accelerating Infill in Santa Rosa and Sonoma County: Options to Address the Housing Shortage & Wildfire Rebuilding Effort. Following the devastating Sonoma County wildfires in October 2017, which destroyed about 6,000 homes county-wide and over 3,000 in the City of Santa Rosa alone (at least 5% of its housing stock), the Council of Infill Builders convened state and local public officials, real estate investors and developers, local business leaders, and other stakeholders to discuss options to rebuild homes in a more sustainable, infill-focused way.
